Week 3 was the shortest week of the Startup Journey so far, but it does not mean that it wasn’t full of events!
We started on Wednesday with the keynote of the MVP master and web developer Pyry Liukas. He also had a chance to give lots of tips to the teams during the one-on-one sessions.
Teams listening to the tutorial on how to make summer rolls.
They say Friday is the best day of the week, but we know that it’s not the case. Thursday is the day we all look forward to. Why? Well, first of all it’s a metrics day and this week teams finally got a chance to spend it with our head coaches Anssi Kiviranta and Matias Mäenpää. Coaches were pleasantly surprised with the ambitions of some teams. But the actual reason why we love Thursdays so much is, of course, because it is a BBQ day. This time the BlueZone Company was responsible for organizing it and let us tell you, they turned the whole concept of the BBQ upside down. And not in a bad way. They decided to surprise everyone with the DIY summer rolls. BlueZone guys prepared a selection of ingredients that can go into the summer rolls, and we just had to choose whatever we liked and - the most difficult part - nicely roll it to look like an actual summer roll. And that was a challenge for most of us! But after a few trials, we mastered it. So, we not only ate delicious food, but also gained a new skill. Win-win!
This is what an attempt to make a summer roll looks like.
The week ended on Friday with the pitching sessions, as always. Erika Halonen and Kasperi Ekqvist provided teams with critical feedback not only about their pitches, but also about their startup ideas.
Sometimes it’s good to have a short week to appreciate and enjoy each day more. But now we are off to the new, a bit longer Week 4 of the Startup Journey!
