Startup Journey: Bluezone

Just as any unicorn around the world starts with an idea and the convergence of different skills from a small group of people sharing the vision of changing the world, so does Bluezone.

Back to the day, we heard about the story of Pekka who died alone at home in the winter due to stroke. Also our team members’ parents are actually suffering from heart-related problems and we understand how painful it is to be in such a situation. Looking at a bigger picture, it turns out that the number one cause of death globally is heart diseases, such as stroke, heart attack, coronary issues…
However, the good news is that there is high probability to save those people with timely actions.

We all believe in the meaning of life and we want to help those people, as the way to express our love to family members, with the vision of saving and improving human lives. Our first project is to build a system which includes professional medical devices, software, and cloud-based analytics to monitor and early warn about heart diseases and other related health issues in collaboration with hospitals. The system helps to respond in a timely fashion, leading to saving lives, saving medical costs, and providing better treatment on heart patients.

Such a vision is backed by Bluezone - a young multidisciplinary and multicultural team of four passionate and motivated members. Two of us are researchers with more than six years of research background in system architecture and health monitoring system (one is a senior PhD candidate and the other is MSc graduate working as a researcher and has hands-on-experience of embedded systems and electronic prototyping for over 15 years), one is a sophomore master's degree student with 8 years of working experience in business and innovation, and one is a university student majoring in law (6th year) in addition to economics and 5 years of entrepreneurial background.

Our story just begins. Let’s together with us better and bring the meaning to life.
