Kasperi Ekqvist from Saibor Games

Who are you? What is your passion?

My name is Kasperi Ekqvist and I’m part of the five person game development team Saibor Games which took part in the 2016 Startup Journey accelerator organized by Boost Turku. I am 4th year student at Turku University of Applied Sciences and I’m studying information technology and game technology.

I’ve loved playing video games ever since I was a kid. So when I actually had the opportunity to start making those games. I knew I had to take that chance.

Tell us little bit about your team's background?

Our team met while studying at Turku University of Applied Sciences. We actually ended up being at the same group in a game project course. There we started to work together and after the course we felt that our team spirit were especially high and we felt like continuing what we had already started. Our core is in 2D-games that have featured picture graphics and art.

We ended up applying to Boost’s Startup Journey after we presented our game at ICT-showroom. There we intensively worked on our games during the summer with the support of our peers from other new born companies and with the help of expert mentors from different fields. In Startup Journey we got to meet lot of interesting people from all around Finland and one of the best memories from that summer was to experience the enormous community spirit between all of the Journey teams.

Anything you wanna say to the people?

I think everyone who are considering to apply for Startup Journey 2017, should most definitely apply. We got so much out of it that I can hardly think of a better environment to develop both your business ideas and skills.

Lately Saibor Game have been doing little bit of experimentation and we have lot of new things coming up that we will talk more in the future, Kasperi mysteriously hints.
