We do not remember days, we remember moments.
The tragedy is that what is lost is exactly what matters most. The focus shifts from really living in the moment to trying to chase the moment and capture it in a form that only serves the purpose of showing the world how valuable it was.
We stop living the moment as we try to catch it because we feel the need to create this proof that can speak for itself. No more words needed.
Our lives are the sum of our memories. How much are we willing to lose from our already short lives by … not paying attention?
Joshua Foer
This is exactly where koobefil comes in and will enable users to consciously and specifically turn events and moments into memories. It is not about getting the perfect photo in which the event is captured. It is about creating an anchor that represents that moment, because the memory does not happen in the moment of the photo. It happens in the moments before and after the photo was taken, in which we fully immerse ourselves in our surroundings and the people around us.
Through the integrated commentary function, the photo is given the opportunity to capture this story. And with the ability to share images within the app with individuals in a secure and private way, they also get the permission to add comments that help the moment unfold in its complexity. It is the idea to help your memories create the story that tells the way your life unfolds. Just for you and the people you love and trust.
It happens to everyone as they grow up. You find out who you are and what you want, and then you realize that people you've known forever don't see things the way you do. So you keep the wonderful memories, but find yourself moving on.
Nicholas Sparks
Koobefil offers the possibility to always have them with you. Sorted and peppered with exactly those stories that make photos into memories. In your own trouser pocket they are always ready at hand.
Even though our lives wander, our memories remain in one place.
Marcel Proust
Our journey is still at the very beginning, because the idea was born only a few months ago. Teemu Pietiäinen had a vision to help people tell their stories in a simple way. The idea convinced and became part of the Boost StartUp journey. With the start of the program Ricardo Walldorf-Correll and Louise Siltan joined the team to develop the idea further. Together they combine business expertise from previous StartUp experiences, organizational talent from nationwide project work and media sensitivity for words and images to turn the new vision into a success helping many people to preserve their memories in the best possible way. For this purpose, the team has been expanded once again. With Max Westerback and Viktor Österholm, two specialists for front- and backend development have been added, who will ensure that the product meets all visual and technical requirements.
This international team of now 5 people, which unites six languages, is convinced to offer a solution that will bring many people the joy of protecting what is most precious to them and only sharing it with the people they love and care about - the memories that make their lives a story. Interwoven with all the generations that came before us and the loved ones that are right there with us.
Memory is a complicated thing, a relative to truth, but not its twin.
Barbara Kingsolver
