Will Boost invest into my startup?

No. But we do have a vast network of investors who you can meet during the Startup Journey.

How come this is all free?

We are a non-profit association, being supported by public organizations like University of Turku and Turku Business Region.

Do you take any equity?

No, the Journey is free of charge and also free of any stake in your business.

Can I join even though I’m not in Turku?

Attendance is mandatory for at least one team member. Even if you don’t live in Turku you will have to find a way to attend for your participation to work out.

Can I join even though I’m alone and don’t have a team?

Yes, but it requires you being able to produce your prototype and/or MVP and sell it with your own skills. That is unusual, but does happen. We do favor teams over individuals.

Where does the program take place?

In Turku, Finland. Some trips might be taken away from the city during the program.

Why should I attend your accelerator and not just do business on my own?

Attending our accelerator gives you the access to people you would otherwise struggle to get a hold of. No success is built alone and we help you reach your goals. There will be a lot more helping hands when you bump up against hurdles during your path. Both during the program and in the future.

What happens after the program?

As an alumnus, you are remembered and supported. Both from Boost but also from your new found friends and colleagues. You are now part of the network and will enjoy the benefits from being included.

Is there mandatory attendance?

Yes. At least one team member from each team should be present in all activities.

How can I get credits?

Students from universities located in Turku are eligible for student credits in most cases. It is possible to get credits even though you are studying at another university on a case-by-case basis. After you have been accepted to the program, we will let you know how you can get credits. It could be, for example, by keeping a learning diary or reading additional.

Does the industry my startup is in affect the selection process?

No. We accept startups from all industries.
