New Boy in the Hood – My Favorite Things

Greatest joys in life are the little things in it they say. I most certainly agree on that take. There is nothing bigger in this world than a random act of kindness or helping the community you are part of. For Boost Turku Leo Kadieff as Network Manager has been this sort of benefactor, who’s deeds haven’t gone unnoticed around Finland. When I heard Leo was moving forward from Boost I must say that I felt little bit bad for his successor, because of the awesome job he has done, but now that I get to carry the Boost Network Manager’s torch I’m feeling super PSYCHED!

I’m Anssi Ketopaikka, 25-year old community development and networking enthusiast, and I’m starting as Boost’s Network Manager on 1.9.2016. I’m born and raised in small municipality of Kannus in Central Ostrobothnia region. From my hometown business studies took me to Oulu for five years and now that I got this awesome opportunity to work for Boost, for me packing up my backpack and moving to Turku was the only thing to do. Before joining Boost-community, I have been doing stuff within Oulu Entrepreneurship Society and startup communities such as Njetworking and Business Kitchen in Oulu. This year I also got an amazing chance to take part in organizing Kesäyrittäjä summer entrepreneurship program in Oulu for young business prodigies, helping them establish their own businesses during the summer.

I’m very passionate about football whether it is playing football, watching it casually or supporting it actively, I’m up for it! Music is also close to my heart as well and I have a soft spot for all kinds of volunteering.

And like sometime someone wisely said that: “Networking is the most important thing you can do in business, but it shouldn’t feel like work”. We should get connected! So if you see me around please stop me and let’s introduce ourselves. Like I said that I’m new in Turku so It’s always nice to run in to familiar people and share together knowledge, connections and opportunities. As those are the greatest little things in business life aren’t they?
